After Au coeur in which different heritages and dances interact, Dalila Belaza wants to create a kind of traditional dance that does not exist, with neither culture nor origin nor territory: a ritual without a past, in the present but one that could carry a symbolism that does not evoke known references. Allowing the expression of impersonal stories that are rooted in an invented ceremony, whose metaphorical narrative invites to travel and to let go. Figures is a deterriotorialized piece that represents an inside put outside.
In Figures, Dalila Belaza plays with the mechanics of black, as much through the material of the costumes as through the work of the lights, turning the body into a presence capable of embodying a multitude of possibilities.
